Why convert, which metadata to keep, and how to get clean JPGs for clients, CMS, and email.

Since iOS 11, iPhones capture photos in .HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container). While technically superior, this format remains a nightmare for many Windows and Android users. **HEIC Advantages**: It uses the HEVC (H.265) codec to compress images. At equal quality, a HEIC photo weighs half as much as a JPG. It also supports 16-bit color depth (compared to 8 for JPG) and stores depth data for portrait mode. **Why Convert?**: Most web browsers and office software (Office 2016 and earlier) do not read HEIC natively. **PulsConv Method**: For a successful conversion, our tool doesn't just change the extension. We rebuild the pixel structure, extract EXIF metadata (date, location), and reinject them into the new JPG file so you don't lose any information from your photo history.
