Subsampling, embedded fonts, linearization: lighter PDFs with sharp text for email and SEO.

A 50 MB PDF is impossible to send by email. Here's how to reduce it intelligently. **Image Subsampling**: Most PDFs contain images at 300 or 600 DPI (print resolution). For screen display, 72 or 150 DPI is more than enough. Our engine recalculates pixel density to save up to 90% space. **Font Optimization**: A PDF often embeds the entire character set of a font (e.g., Arial). Optimization consists of keeping only the characters actually used in the document (subsetting). **Stream Cleaning**: Software like Illustrator adds invisible metadata and redundant objects. PulsConv uses 'stream cleaning' algorithms to remove this useless data without altering the content. **Linearization**: Also called 'Fast Web View', this technique reorganizes the internal structure of the PDF to allow browsers to display the first page even before the rest of the document is downloaded.
